In 1984 Ranua’s municipal manager Kauno Harju’s invented tour has struggled after the beginnings little number of participants to be a remarkable international ski-event. Making this event a remarkable and international, is that marketing has been mainly in Finland and the international marketing has only happened by the skiers themselves. Today 5 travel agencies in Europe and one in United States are selling Border to Border ski event.
First timers and veterans

The age of the skiers vary between 20 and 75 years. The youngest skiers in the history of “Border to Border” have been 10 years old and the oldest ones around 80 years old. Besides the variation in ages, so does the exercise background and ski experience and skills. There are skiers that exercise lot and friends of skiing as well as first timers skiers.
Without volunteers there wouldn’t be Border to Border ski
